From Order to Doorstep: What Actually Happens During the Wait

The Wait Is the Hardest Part

Spend any time in owner communities and you will find the same post over and over: someone five weeks into an order, no tracking updates, wondering whether they have been scammed. Usually they have not. They have hit a normal quiet stretch that nobody warned them about.

Here is the whole sequence, so you know which silences to ignore and which ones to ask about.

Stage 1: Order and Configuration

You pick the model, height and body, then the head, skin tone and options. Take your time here, because this is the last cheap moment to change your mind. Once production starts, changes mean starting over.

Double-check the configuration summary before confirming. The most common regret we see is not the doll, it is a skin tone or cup size that was picked in a hurry.

Stage 2: Production — 2 to 4 Weeks for Custom Orders

This is the longest silent stretch, and it is supposed to be silent. Your doll is being cast, assembled and finished. There is no tracking number yet because there is nothing to track.

In-stock dolls skip this stage entirely, which is worth knowing if timing matters more to you than customization. Anything already in the warehouse can move within days.

Stage 3: Factory QC Photos — Your Real Checkpoint

Before your doll ships, you get photographs of your actual doll. Not the catalog images. Yours.

This is the single most important moment in the whole process and the one buyers most often skim past. It is your opportunity to catch a problem while the doll is still in the factory, which is roughly a hundred times easier than catching it after international shipping.

Look at the face first, then skin tone against the option you ordered, then seams and joints, then the details you paid extra for. We wrote a separate guide to reading QC photos because there is more to it than "does she look nice".

If something is wrong, say so before approving. That is what the checkpoint is for.

Stage 4: Shipping

Typical transit once she is on the way:

Shipping is usually free for full-size dolls to major countries. Remote areas can carry a surcharge, so confirm that for your address rather than assuming.

Stage 5: Customs

International shipments commonly show no tracking movement for three to seven days during clearance. This is the second silence that makes people panic, and it is normal. If there is no movement after ten days, that is the point to ask us to chase it.

Duties depend on where you are. The USA typically has no fees. Canada may charge GST/HST. UK typically charges VAT. Australia applies GST over $1,000 AUD. Dolls are legal adult products in most regions, and inspection is possible anywhere but rarely a problem.

Stage 6: Arrival

The box is bigger and heavier than people expect. Have a plan for getting it inside and somewhere private to open it before it arrives, not while the driver is walking away.

Inspect and photograph everything on day one, before use. If there is transit damage, documentation from the first hour is worth far more than a description written a week later.

When to Actually Worry

• No tracking number more than two weeks after approving QC photos
• No tracking movement for ten or more days
• Any request to change payment method or send money outside the original channel
